The Mystical Arts of Tibet
The Mystical Arts of Tibet tours, put together by Drepung Loseling Monastery and Richard Gere Productions, will be robed in magnificent costumes and playing Tibetan instruments. Endorsed by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, to promote world peace, this inspiring ensemble is part of a tradition that dates back 2,500 years. The captivating performance for all ages combines sacred chanting, ancient rhythms and authentic temple dances. “Fascinating and entertaining” says The Chicago Tribune; “Remarkable,” proclaims The New York Times, “…the music and the dance invoke sacred ecstasy.” The San Francisco Chronicle calls the experience a “primordial pool of sound that you feel as much as hear.”
During their week long residency at the Van Wezel the Monks will create a magical Mandala in the Grand Foyer.

Curtain Calls are your opportunity to learn more about the creative process with our visiting artists. These informal pre- or post-performance discussions, all held at the Van Wezel, are FREE and open to the public. No tickets are required. Please join us!
A group begins with as few as 20 people attending the same performance, and is a great way to get together with friends and family or treat your employees and clients.
Group Perks
Group purchases enjoy a 10% discount from regular prices for most performances. We also offer personal group representatives to aid with handling the specific details of your event. Convenient motor coach parking is available to make arrivals and departures a snap, and pre-show meals can be easily handled by our special on-site catering. Pre or post show performer chats are also sometimes available for many performances.

Let us know which section you would like to sit in and any special setting requests you may have. We will send you an invoice. A 25% non-refundable down payment is required and full payment is due no later than 60 days prior to the performance. Tickets are mailed when full payment is received.

Special Requests
The Van Wezel strives to ensure that all people, regardless of ability, can enjoy our programming and our facility. Both the Main and Bayside lobbies are now completely accessible to people with disabilities. If you have a special request for accessible seating or special assistance materials, please contact the Box Office at 941-953-3368 at least three weeks in advance of the event. Elevators in both lobbies provide easy access to all levels of the Hall, including the Grand Foyer and Auditorium. In the auditorium, wheelchair seating is available in Sections A and C. Wheelchair patrons can be accommodated in restrooms off both lobbies.
For the Hard of Hearing
The Van Wezel offers the Sennheiser Infrared listening system. The Sennheiser system makes it possible for those with a hearing loss of up to 75% to hear a program from any seat in the auditorium. Sennheiser headsets are available for use free of charge in both lobbies before each show.
Patrons in Wheelchairs
Patrons in wheelchairs may enter through automatic doors in both Main and Bayside lobbies on ground level (no stairs). Only disabled patrons with tickets in wheelchair section may use the free parking facilities on the circle outside the Main Entrance. Your cooperation is requested. Additional free parking for handicapped is provided in the regular parking area. Cars must have necessary identification to qualify for these special arrangements. Wheelchair patrons can be accommodated in restrooms off both lobbies. There is a wheelchair on the premises for emergency use, thanks to the generosity of Easter Seals.
