The PAUL TAYLOR DANCE COMPANY, celebrating its 70th Anniversary in 2024, is thrilled to return to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Anchoring the program is Taylor's iconic Promethean Fire, appearing in Sarasota for the first time. Choreographed after 9/11 and hailed by The New York Times as "quite simply one of the best dance works choreographed by Paul Taylor," Promethean Fire epitomizes the Company's thrilling athleticism and emotional depth.

Also on the program is Taylor's hilarious Gossamer Gallants - where dancers portray insect heroes and heroines in a fun and dangerous battle for dominance in the animal kingdom, all to music from Bedrich Smetana’s “The Bartered Bride.” The Florida premiere of Resident Choreographer Lauren Lovette's Echo completes the program. Lovette's newest work on the Company received rave reviews and is not to be missed.
