The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall introduces Cabaret by the Bay, a series of intimate performances held in the Grand Foyer. The Shantel Norman Quartet headlines the performances on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
Pricing is $30 for a table of two guests and $60 for a table of four guests. Tables will be spaced out to ensure proper social distancing while patrons enjoy an evening of live music and a Sarasota sunset. Drinks and light appetizers by Mattison’s at the Van Wezel will be available for purchase in advance and at the event. These items are not included in the price of the table reservation.

Charcuterie Plate ($18)
Olives, prosciutto, salami, pepperoni, imported Italian cheeses, fresh and dried fruits and nuts. Served with fresh breads and flatbreads.
Gourmet Cheese and Wild Berry Plate ($16)
Imported and domestic cheeses, mixed fresh berries, nuts, assorted crackers and flat breads.
Hummus and Vegetable Plate ($12)
Hummus, raw vegetable mix (carrots, cucumber, celery), pita points.
Dessert Tray ($10)
Bite size morsels of our famous desserts. Varying from key lime tart, macnut tart, cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries.
FOR YOUR SAFETY: Cabaret Protocols
At the present time, the City of Sarasota requires the use of face coverings on City property (both indoor and outdoor) under City Ordinance 20-5329. Exemptions to the ordinance are outlined within the ordinance.
Masks/face coverings must be worn until the patron has reached their assigned table. Should a patron need to leave their table for any reason, they must wear their face covering until they’ve returned to their table. Patrons will be required to use the dedicated aisleway to maintain distancing from other tables when leaving their tables.
Hand sanitizer stations will be accessible throughout the facility and event spaces (i.e. lobbies upon entry and grand foyer where event is taking place). Patrons must use hand sanitizer prior to entering the facility.
We will be using a fogging machine to mass disinfect all areas with an environmentally responsible PathoCide sanitizer/disinfectant. Per PathoSans, this is “99.999% effective at killing bacteria within seconds” (PathoSans 2020). These areas will be fogged both prior to and following the event.
High touch areas will be disinfected throughout the event, including door handles, handrails, elevator call buttons, counters, etc.
Bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected prior to the event, as well as routinely throughout the event. Bathrooms will require limited capacity to encourage social distancing in smaller spaces.
All tables will be socially distanced (6’ minimum) from each other and staff will be encouraging social distancing protocols for all persons.
Dedicated ingress and egress doors will be assigned to maintain flow of socially distanced traffic.
