The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall regrets to announce that The Pointer Sisters’ performance scheduled for April 2, 2020 has been canceled in light of the situation surrounding COVID-19. The theater hopes to reschedule their performance at a later date.
The Van Wezel’s Box Office will be following up with patrons directly affected by this cancellation.
The Pointer Sisters return to the Van Wezel! Known for hits such as “I’m So Excited”, "He's So Shy", "Slow Hand", "Jump (for my love)", “Neutron Dance”, “Automatic” and "Fire", The Pointer Sisters are music industry legends, securing a place in pop music history as a dynamic female group. The Pointer Sisters were the first black female group to ever perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, and they were the first contemporary act to perform at the San Francisco Opera House, releasing a live recording of the performance.
In 1994, the ladies receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In recent years, the group has performed with some of the greatest symphony orchestras in the world, including San Francisco, Jacksonville, Atlanta's symphony orchestra and the renowned Boston Pops. Ruth, Issa and Sadako perform the music of The Pointer Sisters all over the world.
